Privacy Policy

The short version: Hundo holds your family’s financial records so you can see them clearly. We store your data in India, we redact sensitive identifiers before any AI ever reads them, we do not show ads, and we never sell or rent your data to anyone. This page is the full detail.

1. Who we are

Hundo (“Hundo”, “we”, “us”) is a private family-finance and document-vault app operated byAkash Rajagopal. You can reach us any time athello@hundo.in.

2. What we collect

• Account details — your email and the passkey credential you use to sign in.
• What you capture — the accounts, balances, investments, documents and dates you add: bank, EPF/EPFO, PPF, NPS, mutual funds, stocks, gold, cash, and vault items such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, policies and nominees, along with any proof files you upload.
• People you add — the family members you assign entities to, for the “for whom” view.
• Basic technical data — the minimum needed to run the service securely, such as device and session information for the app-lock.

We do not scrape your bank or EPFO and we do not store your portal passwords. You capture your information yourself.

3. Where your data lives

Your data is stored in India, in Google Cloud’s asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and does not leave the country in normal operation.

4. How we use it

We use your data only to provide the product to you and your family: to reconcile your net worth, mark investments to market, keep your documents and remind you of renewals and expiries. We do not use your financial records to build advertising profiles.

5. AI and redaction

Hundo’s assistant, Munshi, can answer questions about your money. Before any request is sent to an AI model, we redact sensitive identifiers — including Aadhaar, PAN and account numbers — on our side, so the model never receives them. The assistant only proposes actions such as reminders or goals; it never moves money or acts on its own without you confirming.

6. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal or financial data, and we show no advertising. We make money from subscriptions, not from your data. We share data only with the infrastructure providers strictly needed to run the service securely (for example, our cloud host), under confidentiality obligations, or where the law requires it.

7. Your family and access

Each household’s data is isolated. Only members you add to your family can see your family’s records, according to the access you grant them. Nobody outside your household sees your data.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as you use Hundo. You can ask us to export or delete your family’s data at any time by emailing hello@hundo.in, and we will act on the request.

9. Security

Access is protected by passkey login and a biometric app-lock that clears your session when it locks. Data is encrypted, and access is scoped to your household. No system is perfectly secure, but security is the core of how Hundo is built — the security pageexplains it in full.

10. Early access

Hundo is in early access and evolving. As we add features, this policy may change; when it changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly.
